Coral islands, hidden waterfalls, a 17th-century citadel: the surroundings of Nha Trang extend your beach getaway with varied and surprising experiences.

Islands and boat excursions

The 71 coastal islands of Khanh Hoa Province are, for some, developed with beach resorts where it is possible to practice numerous water sports or diving. The crystal-clear waters teem with a multitude of colorful fish and harbor magnificent coral reefs.

Swiftlet islands

The Swiftlet Islands, Hon Yen, are two islands facing Nha Trang Beach, where one finds, it is said, the finest bird's nests in all of Vietnam. These nests, the result of salivary secretions, have wide-ranging applications ranging from gastronomy to traditional medicine, including sought-after decoctions for their alleged aphrodisiac properties. The annual production of Khanh Hoa and Phu Yen provinces scarcely exceeds one ton.

Monkey Island, Hon Lao, is home, as its name suggests, to a significant colony of wild monkeys, though they have grown accustomed to visitors and enjoy posing for photographs…

Among the other islands, an incomplete list of which includes those where it is possible to dive or swim in virtually deserted white sand coves, are Hon Tre, Hon Mun, Hon Tam, Hon Mot…

About ten kilometers from Nha Trang, near the village of Dien Toan, Dien Khanh Citadel was erected in the 17th century under the Trinh Dynasty. Though restored in 1793, only ruins remain today.

Suoi Tien spring emerges from the earth as if by magic, amid a setting of rocks and lush vegetation. The spring is located some twenty kilometers from Nha Trang, in the heart of a small valley.
